Lest We Forget

On Friday we had our Remembrance Day ceremony. The choir did an absolutely amazing job! Equally great was our audience. I could not see anyone chatting at any time. We showed our respect as befitted the occasion.

We read the very powerful book by Eve Bunting.

We created beautiful words, phrases and sentences about our thoughts, observations, feelings etc.

From these, we created our own individual and unique Found Poems. Found poems are a great way to show our understanding in a powerful, yet simple way. A lot of students find this is how they choose to represent their understanding, once they get the hang of them.

Enjoy your day with your child. Take a moment out of your day to pause and reflect together, on this 11th day of the 11th hour of the 11th month. Lest we forget.
