We have had a busy week at school using our knowledge about stability and strength to build a chair for Barry.

Barry used to sit on our shelf but has decided it is too uncomfortable and wanted a chair that was at least 10cm off the ground, had a supportive back, was strong enough to hold him and was stable enough not to fall over and give him a concussion.

We had lots of fun planning and making the chairs! We got to practice some math, science and social skills as we worked in groups together!

 Safety first!

Barry, our class's answer to the elf on the shelf, looks very happy trying out the seats! Ask your child how they made their chair stable. Ask them how they could make it stronger so they could put Barry's big brother Jamie in the chair without it breaking!
